December 26, 2004
Banda Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia

One of the greatest natural disasters in the world occurred after a 9.0 earthquake in the Indian Ocean. Entire populations were washed away and their cities, towns and villages obliterated. My next collection of photographs will try to encompass what I saw when I went there May 28-29.

----------------

Many people lost everything in the tsunami disaster. They go back to the rubble of their houses and try to rebuild their lives.

This boy wanted to go back to where his old house once stood.

Not only was his village knocked over and wiped out, nothing remains of it.

If you take a close look at this photograph you will see where the banks of the river once curved.

Nothing left. It's all under water.

It really heartbreakes to see all of ur deviations dedicated to this tragedy, but for sure, u have great talents to show it to people cause we have to see it and react to this.... it's bad that things like that hurt always stronger the ones who have already hard life.... and us... we're sitting in front of this screen, and are pratically powerless to this... i really like your work=P

that reminds me of a sweater i used to wear when i was little, on that sweater stood:"every picture tells more then a thousand words" That phase is carved in my brain, and i wonder if that sweater has something to do with my interest in pictures...They are one of the most important things in my life!!My life just wouldn't be the same if suddenly all my pictures would dissapear!!
